PAA member becomes England Team Captain

I was recently given the great honour of becoming England Team Captain for this year’s Junior World Carp Classic, which will be staged at Lake Katlov in the Czech Republic. Running from the 24th-29th May, the event will see 14 pairs from different countries battling out a 72-hour endure-style match on this formidable venue. In my capacity as a Professional Angling Coach, I was able to select two anglers who although inexperienced, have enthusiasm and desire by the bucket-load. Fourteen year-old Josh Forcer and thirteen year-old Scott Bassett will have the great honour of representing their country this year, and I am certain they will give it 110% and do us proud. Last weekend we had a 24hr training session over at Mill Barn Coarse Fishery in Essex which went very well. The lads soon got to grips with the mechanics of using the marker float and spod set up, and between them banked over 50 carp which was a great result. With the skills they have learned they should be well equipped to give it a good go in the Czech Republic, and whatever the result at the end, I know they will always try their best.
