Professional Anglers’ Association (PAA) membership is open to any angler holding a Level 1 or 2, 1st4Sport/JAGB qualification, existing or former PAA members, AT registered coaches or any person holding a previously-accredited coaching award (OCN, STANIC, etc.).
Consideration will also be given to those able to demonstrate extensive experience in the field of angling tuition working with charitable groups or as guides.
It is a requirement of membership that every applicant, both new and renewing, has a current CRB/DBS certificate and relevant, adequate insurance. Any member who engages directly with the public must also produce a current first aid certificate and safeguarding certificate.
It is essential that whilst coaching, the member must ensure that he/she is adequately insured to do so. Any member who has his/her CRB/DBS certificate withdrawn or endorsed, allows his/her coaching insurance to lapse or coaches without adequate insurance will be immediately suspended and will be liable to the Association’s disciplinary proceedings.
PAA members must comply at all times with EA byelaws and be in possession of a rod licence where required.
In the interests of the public, the PAA will ask you to verify your eligibility to join the Association, and we reserve the right to decline membership.
PAA Membership Fees
For a Coach who is a Licensed Level 1 Angling Trust (AT) Coach £20 per annum
For a Coach who is a Licensed Level 2 Angling Trust (AT) Coach £40 per annum
For a Coach who is not a Licensed Angling Trust (AT) Coach £60 per annum
For coaches who do not hold a current AT coaching licence, the PAA will require a copy of the following documents to be included with their membership application:
- Current CRB/DBS Certificate
- Current Coaching Insurance Policy
- Coaching Qualification Certificate
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Safeguarding Certificate
Every registered member will receive a membership card, access to the tackle support packages, coaching support materials, invitation to join the developing regional structure, access to special events and a host of other benefits.
The PAA’s membership will run for one year. Date of expiry will be on your membership card.
